Georgia White Marble is a limestone; it will not hold up as well as granite over time, however, sculptors like using marble because of the fine details that they can get in the sculpture. When carving in marble, you do not want small letters as you do not know where it may have small imperfections that will affect how the letters show up when sandblasted.
